Why do we fear death so much? Is it the Death? Or the Fear? Lately I’ve been thinking about fear just as a general concept, void of trauma or emotion. What is fear exactly? Of course, there are many answers, I’ve heard a lot of them. I liked the above explanation.
Fear seems so tightly joined with death. In our culture, think of death, think of fear. It’s almost a rule.
Lately I’ve wondered what do we lose, if anything, being in denial about death, fearing death. Does our fear cost us anything? Life? Love?
I think the answer might be yes, we lose something. We should know what we lose or gain fearing death before we decide denial is more valuable or easier.
